Tesco Company

Tesco was found in 1919 by Jack Cohen and over the years has grown and now operates in 12 countries around the world (Europe, Asia and North America) and employ over 530,000 people and serve tens of millions of customers every week (Tescople.com). Tesco is the biggest retail in the UK and is the world’s 3rd largest supermarket by sales and is still the most popular place to buy food in the UK. (grocerynews.org), by reaching 90% of the UK population and make 70,000 deliveries weekly    (globalsources.com).   The company operates a significant non food business, personal finance and online shopping. Also, Tesco has expanded its brand into baking and mobile phones.

According to Google AdWords Tesco has 1,291,820 searches per month the main keywords are; Tesco, Tesco Finance, Tesco Online and Tesco Special Offers. During the year there was a sightly decrease between February and March however then there was a n increase and the searches for Tesco was at the same level. Also high searches had the Tesco direct with 2,317,610 monthly searches. 

The main competitors of Tesco are Asda, Sainsurys and Morrisons with Asda has 12.8% lower market share than Tesco. The competition in the supermarket industry is high so Tesco tries to continue its high position by doing fresh food because the competitors are expanding and investing in their own business. 

Tesco's competitors like Saisbury's has 3,823,820 monthly searches  and the main competitor for Tesco, Asda has 6,784,140  monthly searches approximately 3 times more than Tesco's searches. Furthermore, Morrison's has 1,120,640 monthly searches approximately at the same levels as Tesco. 
Let's compare a specific product for example Tesco's wine and Sainsbury's wine according to Google ADWords Sainsbury's has 10,920 monthly searches in compare with Tesco's wine which has 81.490 monthly searches.
